Getting involved

There are always opportunities to get involved at Suburban through volunteering. Areas you can volunteer in include hospitality, music, multimedia, welcoming, kids ministries, youth ministries, creative teams and more. If you are interested, find out more by clicking the button below. 


Current Needs

We are currently seeking willing people to volunteer in the following roles:

[URGENT] 2-4 Youth Church Volunteers

Youth Church is run every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month for young people Grades 5-8 during the morning sermon. Volunteers will be rostered on for one Sunday every month, and will help assist the running of pre-set curriculum for the week.

2-4 Baby Creche Volunteers

Baby creche volunteers care for babies from 6 months to 2 years old during the Sunday morning service time. Volunteers are rostered on every 4-6 weeks and will serve with the same team each time they are on. Volunteers are required to complete some basic training once or twice a year.

4-6 Toddler Creche Volunteers

Toddler creche volunteers care for children  from 2 years old to pre-kinder age during the Sunday morning service time. Volunteers are rostered on every 4-6 weeks and will serve with the same team each time they are on. Volunteers are required to complete some basic training once or twice a year.

6 Toddler Creche Snack Helpers

We are currently looking to recruit people to join each of our toddler creche teams to help in the preparation and clean up of the snack each week during the Sunday service time. This role involves preparing fruit and water for the children and cleaning up the dishes after creche is finished. This job should take 15-30 mins on a Sunday morning.

4 Kids Crew Sunday Helpers

We are looking to recruit at least 4 new helpers to join our Kids Crew Sunday teams. Each Kids Crew team is rostered on for three consecutive Sundays each term. The helpers would be required to assist in the overall management of the children, assisting with crafts and games and contributing to discussions. These helpers would not be required to do any teaching and the planning time would be minimal.

Hosts for Leader Planning Times

We are looking for several people who would be willing to cook and host dinner for 15-20 leaders for our Kids Crew Leader Planning Nights. These nights happen twice each term. You could either cook the dinner and host in your home or just provide the dinner and we will meet at the church building. 

 

All Kids Ministry volunteers will be required to obtain a Working With Children Check and complete the volunteer paperwork. To find out more about each of these ministry areas you can read about them on the Kids Ministry page or speak to JoyLee Kilpatrick or Rosemary Wilkinson.
