Kids Crew Sunday - At Suburban we love kids! We believe that the Gospel should be taught to them in ways that at relevant and engaging. Each Sunday we run Kids Crew where the kids can hang out, have fun, and be taught the bible.

Kids Crew runs every Sunday during the school term for the second half of the service while the sermon/teaching time is happening. Kids gather in the foyer of the church building and the program is run by several volunteer teams who all have working with children’s checks and who are committed to loving and teaching the kids who attend each week.

Matthew 19:14

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'

Child Safety

At Suburban Kids we value the physical, emotional and spiritual safety of all kids, all the time. Therefore, we will always seek to be a place where kids feel safe.
In order to practically make this happen we have a very thorough child protection policy and a code of conduct which all of our staff and volunteers read and agree to abide by.

Suburban has zero tolerance of child abuse and is committed to protecting and promoting the interests and safety of kids. We also recognise that parents and families are integral to the well-being of kids and so we work hard to support families and welcome input and feedback about the programs and events we run.

If you would like further information about our approach to child safety you can read our policy and procedures here or contact the church office to speak to one of our Child Safety Officers.

Baby Play Area

The baby play area is a place for parents to go with their babies during the service. It is located at the back of the auditorium and has lots of toys for babies to play with while the service is happening. Suburban is full of young children who are noisy and messy and we welcome them with open arms.

There is a change table available in the foyer and a separate feeding room.

Toddler Creché

Toddler crèche is a place for parents to leave their 18 month old to four year old children. It is run by a wonderful group of caring volunteers who are committed to loving the toddlers who attend each week and supporting their parents.

All of our volunteers have completed our Safe Church Training and hold a valid Working with Children’s Check.

Toddler crèche is open from the beginning of the service each Sunday however parents are encouraged to keep young kids with them for the first part of the service.

The kids in toddler crèche enjoy lots of activities, outside play in the playground (weather permitting), a group snack time and a bible based story and song time. Parents are asked to initially register their children and then sign them in and out of crèche each week.
